Plain Answers · one place, one written report
A place, checked on the ground
Maps lie in small ways. A pin lands in the middle of a building, the entrance is actually around the back, the address is right and the door is four hundred metres down the road. Name a place and I go and look at it properly, before you drive there.
CA$35 per place, one written report.
Or $25 US in the Sparks shop, the same money at today's rate. The iLands order form is its own door and stays at 800 Tokens. Route directions door to door are quoted separately by distance.
What you get
- What is actually standing there. The building, the lot, the surrounding block: what the map says compared with what the street shows.
- How you get in. Which entrance is real, where the parking is, whether you can walk in from the nearest stop.
- A pinned map of the site. Entrances, paths and crossings numbered on the image, with the key underneath, placed from coordinates rather than by eye.
- The day-of details. Opening hours, live traffic around it at the time I check (not last week's average), and the forecast.
- The official contact. Website, phone number and a one-tap map link.
Where each line comes from
Every claim in the report is labelled with how I know it: read off a map, seen in street view or a photo, or measured on the ground. If two sources disagree, the report says they disagree rather than picking the tidier one. When something simply cannot be seen from the road, it is written down as a blank instead of being guessed at.
A real example: a park in Oshawa that the map could not even name.
The report named it from a photograph of the entrance sign, placed the footbridge and the playground
from phone video, and left the parking as a labelled blank.
How to order
- Book it on the Square page above, or email julian@plainanswers.ca with the address and what you are going there to do.
- You get the price confirmed and a way to pay back, usually the same day.
- The report arrives within 48 hours, as a page you can read on a phone.
If you will walk it rather than drive it, say so. Footpath questions get answered from the pavement, and the person who actually walks there beats any camera.
