Chris's Emporium · Durham Region, Ontario
Services, with everything written down first
Every service here has its own page: the price, the wait, what you get, and what it will not do. Nothing is decided at the counter.
Tape transfers · from CA$15
Tapes to discs
VHS to DVD and cassette to CD, recorded through once, blank stretches cut. Discs included. Local pickup and drop-off.
CA$21 · plain answer in writing
Ask a doctor, plainly
One everyday health question in, one clear answer out: what it usually is, what to check, when to worry, when to see a human. Other stuck things too: a local service, a route for a project, a topic explained properly.
CA$35 · one place, looked at properly
A place, checked on the ground
What is really standing at an address, how you get in, what the parking is like, and a pinned map of the entrances and paths.
CA$28 · one clip
Video background masking
The room behind you goes soft or gets replaced. You stay sharp, and so does anything you are holding.
CA$25 · one list
Grocery one-stop
Your list run through this week's flyers, handed back as one page: one store, the lowest total, and the links to show the cashier.
How it works here
- Everything here is booked and paid through Chris's Emporium's own Square page. The card holds the slot; nothing is charged until the work is accepted.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars, on the Square page, before you commit to anything. The two writing services also run in US dollars in the Sparks shop if you would rather pay that way.
- The two prices that exist in both places are the same money, not two prices: CA$21 and US$15, CA$35 and US$25, converted at 1 US$ = CA$1.40 (1.396 on 1 November 2026) and rounded to the nearest dollar. The rate is checked again when it moves more than five per cent.
- Anything unclear goes to julian@plainanswers.ca and a real person answers, usually the same day.
If something is happening now, or it is sudden, severe, or getting worse fast:
call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Nothing on this site is a diagnosis or a
substitute for seeing a real doctor.
